OTAGO POWER BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Otago Electric Power Board, held at Milton yesterday, was attended by Messrs W. Arkle (in the chairh T. A. Lowis, J. B. McGill, A. Anderson, W. Lee, G. Moore, R. H. Michelle, W. Cameron, and J. R. Copland The engineer (Mr J. H. Gardiner), in his report, stated that several ot the former poles had been replaced by concrete poles. Alterations had been madeto ensure a satisfactory supply to Waihola when the Clarendon phosphate workings were connected up, while provision had been made to supply power to the new Post Office at Owaka. All street lighting cowls had been removed in Balclutha and Kaitangata. At the pole manufacturing plant at Stirling 33 new poles had been made, bringing the total to date to 1619. Twelve permits had been issued during the month.' The financial statement showed receipts at £5735 10s 8d (electricity £5115 10s Id) and expenditure at £2500 10s Id. Accounts before the meeting totalled £6422 15s 6d (depreciation payment £5423 6s, wages £463 8s 4d).
