RELEASE FROM ARMY
YOUTHS OF 18 AND 19 YEARS POSITION OF VOLUNTEERS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Mar? 16. The Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, said to-day that arrangements had been made to release from lull-time service in the. army youths of 18 and 19 years of age who were anx.ous to return to civil life in order to resume their studies or apprenticeships or undertake their chosen vocations. “ Youths now in the army who have volunteered for the navy and air force and others who wish to remain in the army will not be affected, but it is proposed to release all others as expeditiously as circumstances will permit,” Mr Fraser added. “ Under the existing conditions, it is not proposed to call into camp for full-time service youths aged 18-19 years, but any in these age groups desirous of vo!unte:ring ! or the navy or air force may do so. In fact, in view of the requirements for these services, particularly the air force, it is very desirable that those anxious to enter should submit their applications without delay.”
