STRIKE IN PALESTINE

DECISION TO GROW BEARDS (Rec. 1.45 a.m.) TEL-AVIV, Mar. 15. Twelve hundred Jewish and Arab officials of the Palestine Government’s junior service decided not to shave and to hold a stay-in strike until they received satisfaction of their claim for higher cost of living allowances. The Government, long before beards reached patriarchal proportions, intimated that it was considering the claims, whereupon the strike was called off.
