ANZAC DAY
LOCAL OBSERVANCE To conform with the Easter Sunday services in the churches, some modifications in the Anzac Day service were announced at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Dunedin Returned Services’ Association last night. , . , Details were submitted by the chairman of the Anzac Day Committee (Mr C. R. McLean), who said that the parade of ex-servicemen would leave the association’s club rooms at 2.30 p.m. for the Town Hall, where the service would be conducted by the Rev. Ronald S. Watson, M.C. After the main service the executive will march from the Town Hall to the Cenotaph at the Queen’s Gardens, where it will lay the wreath at approximately 4.15 p.m. The parade to the Town Hall will, as usual, be led by the Highland Pipe Band. It was decided that no invitation should be extened to public bodies to lay wreaths on the Cenotaph. This was the same procedure as followed last year. The A.I.F. Association will be invited to conduct the dawn service.
