SOCIAL AT MOSGIEL
SOLDIERS ENTERTAINED A social was tendered in the Coronation Hall, Mosgiel, last night to a number of local soldiers on leave, the Mayor (Mr W. P I-lartstonge) presiding over a good attendance, Dancing was indulged in, the music being supplied by Messrs R. Norris and A. Smith, and Messrs A. McLean and J. Wishart .were die M.C.’s. Items, which included vocal numbers and solo dancing, were contributed by Mrs W. Craigie, Mrs Williamson. Misses Didhain, Henderson, Brown, Fay Heasiey, and Messrs J. Thomson and G. A. Gibson. Piper Brown played the music for the solo dancing, and Mr R. D. Rogers was the accompanist. The following soldiers were presented with suitably-inscribed pocket wallets:— J. T. Chesncy, W. S. Chesney. A. D. Renton, H. Martin, and R. T. Powell. The president of the Mosgiel R.S.A. (Mr R. L. Fairinaid) made the presentations, and his remarks were supplemented by the Mayor. The soldiers and their friends were later entertained at supper, at which the Mayoress presided.
