DUSSELDORF BOMBED

GREAT ARMAMENT CENTRE (Rec. 2 a.m.) LONDON, Jan; 28. A raid was made on Western Germany last night by British heavy bombers, the great armament centre of Dusseldorf, iri the Rhineland, being the principal target. Lancasters and Halifaxes dropped several hundred tons of high-explosive and incendiary bombs in a 20-minute attack. Heavy clouds made it difficult to assess the results, but great fires were seen, and it is believed that the damage was extensive. Six of the bombers are missing.
