FURTHER DECLINE IN PRICES
A further decline in prices for fat cattle and fat sheep took place at the Waiareka sale yesterday. Fat cattle prices dropped from 10s to £1 per head, and fat ewes by about 2s. There was a medium yarding of fat cattle, a large yarding of fat sheep, and a fair yarding of pigs. Prices: Fat Cattle.—Best steers, £l3 10s to £l4 10s; medium, £9 2s 6d to £ll 17s 6d; light, down to £7 7s 6d. Best heifers, £9 7s 6d to £lO 10s; medium, down to £8 12s 6d. Best cows, £7 2s 6d to £8 17s 6d; light, down to £4 2s 6d. Fat Sheep.—Best wethers, 34s 6d to 365; medium, 29s to 32s 6d; light, 24s 6d to 28s. Best ewes, 13s to 14s 6d; medium, 11s 6d to 12s 6d. Best lambs, 30s 9d to 32s 6d; medium, 25s to 28s 6d. Store Sheep.—A pen of small four-tooth ewes, 23s 9d; two-tooth wethers, 20s 6d to 255. A pen of good store lambs, 20s 3d. Pigs—Best, 35s 6d to 365; medium, 30s to 325; others, 22s to 265.
