THE WEATHER

- CLOUDY AND MILD Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday bv the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Strong north-westerly to westerly winds, reaching gale force at times; weather cloudy, with Intermittent rain in the western high country, and scattered showers elsewhere; temperatures mild. Further Outlook.—-Unsettled. Weather In Dunedin Except for several light showers in the morning, the weather on Saturday was fine and, for the greater part of the day sunny. A fresh breeze blew from the south-west. The barometer tended to fall and the reading at midnight was 29.76 Inches (1003 millibars). The weather yesterday was fine, but there was little bright sunshine. Temperatures were mild. There was a fairly strong wind from the south-west, and several rain showers fell In the evening. The barometer dropped sharply, the reading at midnight being 29.35 inches (994 millibars). The following are the meteorological observations taken at the week-end at the Daily Times office: — SATURDAY 8 a.m. Noon. 6 p.m. M’nt.

High Water.—St. Clair. 2.57 a.m., 3.25 p.m.; Taiaroa Heads, 3.07 a.m., 3.35 p.m.; Port Chalmers, 3.47 am., 4.15 p.m.; Dunedin, 4.17 am., 4.45 p.m. Phases of the Moon.—New moon: Today, 3.19 am. First quarter: November 15. 6.56 p.m. Full moon: November 23, 8.15 a.m. Last quarter: December 1, 1.37 pm.
