MAGISTRATE’S COURT
Thursday, October 1 (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) Undefended Cases Judgment was given by default (with costs) in the following cases:—Hayward’s North End Furnishing Company, Ltd., v. A Griffiths (Ravensbourne), £B, goods supplied; W. A. Scott and Sons v. R. J. Butler, £3 11s, balance of account due; South Island Motors, Ltd., v. A. P. McVicar (Evans Flat), £1 6s, costs of action. Claim for Commission Reserved judgment was given by his Worship in a claim for £47 10s by N. and E. S. Paterson, Ltd., against Bowman Steven and Florence Maud Steven for commission alleged to be due on the sale of a property at Maori Hill. There was an alternative claim against Steven alone. Judgment was given for the plaintiff company on the claim against Steven for the full amount, with costs (£6 13s). The plaintiff was nonsuited in the claim against Mrs Steven, who was allowed costs (£2 2s) on the nonsuit. Mr W. Ward appeared for the plaintiff and Mr T. O’Shea for the defendants.
