CLOUDY AND COLD Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago covering the ensuing 24 hours was issued at 5 p.m yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Moderate to fresh south-easterly winds; weather cloudy and cold with scattered rain, chiefly near the coast. Further outlook.—Fair to cloudy, and cold. Weather in Dunedin.—The skies were overcast yesterday, and a light, misty rain fell for the greater part of the day. Temperatures were mild, and in the afternoon a fresh breeze blew from the southeast. The barometer rose slightly, the reading at midnight being 29.95 inches (1014 millibars).
