Straight Bat is a chestnut filly whose dam. Winsome Hind, was got by The Ace —Wild Hind, by Autumnus —Kirriemuir, by ClanranDon't Forget, who remains top-weight in the Ashburton Spring Handicap, won four times in 19 starts last season. He was also second in two starts and third in two other attempts. He won the Teschemaker Handicap with 8.1 in 2mm 6sec, the President’s Handicap at Oamaru with 8.2 in heavy going, the Timaru Cup with 7.123 from Good Scout 7.2 J, Palfrey 7.8 and 11 others in 2min 4 l-ssec, and the Ashburton Handicap with 9.0 in heavy going from The Raker 8.7, Cherokee (carried 7.6), and five others. He finished the season by being unplaced in the Oamaru Cup with 9.2 behind Gold Flight 7.6, Tissue 7.1, The Raker 8.1, and Spanlsn Lad 8.12, who were the first four past the post. Don’t Forget has not been placed in his three starts this season.
