OWAKA

Bowling Club.—The annual meeting of the Owaka Bowling Club was held on Saturday last, when the following officers were appointed: President, Mr J. Hogg; vice-president, Mr E. Wilson: secretary, Mr H. C. Alloo; auditor, Mr Thomas Maginness. The annual report and ba)- f: ance sheet showed a satisfactory credit' balance. The green lias been top-dressed, and owing to the action of Mr J. R. Wilson, who gave the necessary timber, the pavilion has been re-lined. The season will be opened on October 17. Personal.—Mr David Pullar, of Enfield, who was a farmer for many years at Katanui, is on a fortnight's holiday. He is visiting old friends in the Catlins district.
