A BROKEN LEG Mr Albert Sanne, a middle-aged man, residing at the Salvation Army's shelter in Maclaggan street, was admitted to the Hospital at 5 p.m. on Saturday suffering from a fractured left leg, received when he fell on the pavement near the Grand Theatre. INJURIES TO HEAD David Muir, a small boy residing at 36 Glasgow street, South Dunedin, was admitted to the Hospital at 12.30 p.m. on Saturday. He was suffering from head injuries as the result •of a fall from an air-raid shelter. ■ ' HOME GUARDSMAN'S DEATH (P.A.I AUCKLAND, Sept. 6. An elderly member of the Home Guard. Mr Peter McElwain, of Ponsonby, a married man with an adult family, collapsed and died shortly afterwards while training with his unit this afternoon. Mr McElwain, who was a retired motorman, was taking part in a rifle shoot.
