Patriotic fervour rather than poetic merit is the achievement sought in this type of song, and "The Long White Cloud " is no exception in this respect. It is different in that it has a chorus to popularise it in group singing. I.esli? Knight has written a taking melody with a harmonious accompaniment, and the words are by Mary Emily Hartley.
