Mrs J. H. Duncan arrived from Wanaka on Tuesday on a brief visit to Dunedin. Mrs P. McCarthy and Mrs J. Robinson, who have been spending a holiday in Dunedin. returned yesterday to Timaru. Miss Elspeth Sutherland, of Balclutha, has returned to New Zealand after spend, ing nearly two years in Sydney, where she was engaged in war work. She hopes later to continue with the same work in Wellington. Instead of organising a day at the Dugout, the Otago Women's Club will hold a concert-tea at 2.45 p.m. on Saturday in the lounge in aid of the All Purposes Appeal. The programme has been arranged by Mrs H. C. Campbell. To celebrate the coming of age of their daughter June, Mr and Mrs H. G. Sime entertained some 20 of her friends to dinner at*lhe Grand Hotel last night, and afterwards to a picture party. Mr A. A. Paape proposed the health of the guest of honour, and a toast to the boys overseas was proposed by Mr Sime.
