MOUNT RICHMOND CRASH

BOARD OF INQUIRY APPOINTED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 23. The Minister of Defence, Mr F. Jones, announced to-day that he had appointed a board of inquiry to investigate and report on the accident to the Union Airways Lockheed plane which crashed on Mount Richmond on May 7, causing the death of the crew and three passengers. The board comprises Mr W. F. Stilwell S.M.. Wellington (chairman), Squadron Leader G. B. Bolt, engineer officer. R.N.Z.A.F.. and Captain Oscar Garden, pilot, of Tasman Empire Airways. Ltd.. both of Auckland. It is expected that the board will commence its sitting at Nelson on July 1.
