NATIONAL SAVINGS

(Special) WELLINGTON, June 23. Last week 69 towns throughout the Dominion attained their national savings quotas, and many other places fell short of the desired total by comparatively small margins. Since the inception of the scheme in October last a considerable number of towns have been successful iii rafting their quotas on all but one or two occasions, and nine places that share the distinction of having flown their national savings flags each week since the beginning of October are Ashburton, Cheviot. Hawarden, Hunterville, Kaikoura, New Plymouth, Hawera, Urenui and Weber.
