BAR TO D.F.C.

A DUNEDIN AIRMAN (P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 23. Air Headquarters, Wellington, states that official advice has : been received that bars to the Distinguished Flying Cross have been awarded to Acting Squadron Leader Arthur Mitchell Paape, R.A.F. (father, Mr A. A. Paape, of Dunedin), and Flying Officer James Robert Anderson, R.A.F. (mother, Mrs G. A. Corkin, of Auckland). Squadron Leader Paape was awarded the D.F.C. in October, 1940. Flying Officer Anderson received his D.F.C. in June, 1941, and he was later reported seriously injured in an air accident.
