DEATH OF HAIG'S BATMAN

LONDON, April 13.

The death has occurred of Sergeant Thomas Secrett, late Bth Hussars, who for 25 years was Field-marshal Lord Haig's batman, accompanying him at home, in South Africa, in India, and throughout the last war. His book, "Twenty-five years with Earl Haig" (1929) not only showed Secrett's keen admiration for his master, but also that he had an observant eye and could tell an interesting story with clearness and simplicity.
