AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION

THE MOTOR CYCLE SECTION The annual meeting'of the motor cycle section of the Otago Automobile Association was held last night, Mr E. Smither presiding over a small number of members. The chairman, moving the adoption of the annual report, said that, in spite of adverse conditions, the season had been successful, and the balance sheet showed a satisfactory credit. Mr J. Hamilton expressed the opinion that members of the association who participated in riding trials were gaining valuable experience, which would be of use to them if employed on military duties.

The election of office-bearers resulted as follows:—Club captain, Mr J. Hamilton; secretary, Mr L. Marks; treasurer, Mr C. J. Wright; press reporter, Mr E. Smither; committee—Messrs M. Sparrow, E. Faithful, E. Smither, V. Laws r and V. Brown. . ..

Prizes for events which had been held during the past year were presented by Messrs P. W. Breen, H. S. Reid, and T. Y. Turner. Mr Breen said he was glad to see the number of keen members of the association who were endeavouring to keep the sport going. The prizes were then presented as follows:—N. R.
