The Minister of Production, Captain Oliver Lyttelton, who has returned to Britain from America, stated that United States production is beginning to roll off the line in ever-increasing quantities. saw Mr Winston Churchill in Washington on Thursday and again on Friday morning. Captain Lyttelton added that Mr Churchill was looking cheerfuL " One corporation in America will, at the end of this year, be producing at the rate of 4,000,000,000 dollars worth of material a year. That is equivalent, in terms of money, to building the Panama canal once every six weeks. Production is being stepped-up beyond what I thought possible," Captain Lyttelton said.
