MERGING OPPOSED

BRITAIN'S DAILY PAPERS CONFERENCE RESOLUTION (Rfea L3o.£t.m.) .'i LONDON, Jurie.lß. The Rational Federation of Newsagents, Booksellers, and Stationers at their conference passed a resolution against the merging of daily newspapers. The resolution declared that any proposal for publishing a single national newspaper on the excuse of a newsprint shortage or for a further reduction of the existing newspapers should be strongly opposed. A free and varied press should be maintained to help to fight any weakening in the war effort or anything militating against the national morale.
