THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH

Sir, —In a report in your paper of some statements made by Mr Nordmeyer, lie asks the question, Who is to have first claim on the reduced quantity of milk now available, the army or the milk-in-schools scheme? The question arises, Why did Mr Nordmeyer fail to answer this question himself? There was 'even- reason why he should do so. There is another most justifiable question which a great number of people are asking, Why is it that Mr Nordmeyer, who is a young man, has not come out of the Ministry and put a uniform on for defence service, which surely comes first as of greatest demand? So far we have not read in the press that Mr Nordmeyer had raised his voice and expressed his views about the urgent need for increased man-power.— l am. etc.. Please Explain.
