OBITUARY
MR FRANK BARNETT The death occurred yesterday, after a short illness, of Mr Frank Barnett, who was for many years well known in the city, particularly in radio circles, Mr Barnett was born in Dunedin in 1882, and was the youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs William Barnett. He was educated at the Macandrew Road School, and in his early youth commenced work as a locksmith’s mechanic. Later, he was employed in a local foundry, and some 30 years ago he set up in business on his own behalf, founding the Kiwi Cycle Works. About 1925 he entered the radio business, and, with his eldest son. commenced trading as Barnett Radio Supplies, Ltd. From 1928 to 1937 he operated the popular station 4ZO. He was also a member of the Royal Oak Lodge, U.A.O.D. In 1905 Mr Barnett married Miss Annis Warnock. He was predeceased by his wife and one daughter. The three surviving children of the marriage are Mrs W. McNeil (Christchurch), Private Les. W. Barnett (prisoner of war), and Mr Frank W. A. Barnett (Dunedin).
