SUPPLY OFFICER

MR F. R. PICOT TRANSFERRED TO AUSTRALIA (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Apl. 13. The Government has decided to recall Mr F. R. Picot from his presem appointment as New Zealand member on the Eastern Group Supply Council at New Delhi and to appoint him New Zealand senior supply officer in Australia. Making this announcement to-night, the Minister of Supply. Mr D. G. Sullivan, said that Mr Picot would assume most important responsibilities in his new post. ■Expressing the Government’s appreciation of the services rendered by Mr Picot to both New Zealand and (he Empire. Mr Sullivan added that he had received reports from time to time indicating that Mr Picot’s contribution to the .work and success of the Supply Council had been outstanding and a credit to New Zealand. The Minister said that Mr Inghs, who had been working with Mr Picot in New Delhi, would act as New Zealand member of the council until a successor to Mr Picot was appointed.
