SUPPLIES FOR RUSSIA
ROUTE THROUGH PERSIA STEADY DEVELOPMENT (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, Mar. 1. The organisation in Persia for the handling of war material for Russia is being steadily developed, says the Teheran correspondent of the Daily Telegraph. Since the New Year' there has been a marked increase in the quantities of raw and manufactured# goods passing through the country. There are at present three main routes for the entry of materials into Persiaone via the southern end of the transPersian railway, the second via Bushire, and the third from India into south-east Iran. Tremendous improvements have been made in the transPersian railway through its 1000 miles, and its capacity has been vastly increased. The old railway from Nokkundi in Baluchistan to Zahidam, which operated in the last war, but was taken up, is now being relaid. V The Russians are responsible for the operation and control of the important section of the railway between Teheran and Bandashah, as well as the line between Teheran end Zenjan. A conference is held every day between the British and Russian directing staffs to discuss the handling of supplies
