x ' END OF GREAT WHITE WAY NEW YORK, Feb. 28. The end of New York’s Great White Way is foreshadowed by an order issued by. the Office of Civilian Defence directing the black-out at night of advertising signs, store windows, and .....pfhpr*-illuminated displays in critical-Coastal- areas. The order-affects areas extending inland 300 miles from the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. Workmen are already dismantling a, giant display in Times Square, which is a block long and four stories high and consumed electricity sufficient to Illuminate a town of 10,000 persons.
