The winning ticket in the art union was shared by Miss Esme Charles, aged 19, of Greymouth. and Mr Gordon Moore, aged 22.. of Punanga. The purchase was made when they , were returning from a picnic at Hokitika. .The previous ticket was .held bv the girl’s mother and the. '■"cceedinsr ticket by her father. The nom-de-nluxne “Whiskers "was chosen because Moore had not shaved for two days. .
