MILITARY FUNERAL

VICTIM OF BOMB TRAGEDY (PA.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 10. , The military funeral of Major R. J D. Davis, N.Z.S.C., who was killed in the bomb explosion at Trentham on Saturday, was held to-day, and was largely attended by representatives of the armed services and the R.S.A. The Rev. N. E. Winhall officiated at the Karori crematorium. The, pallbearers were Majors A. H. L. Sugden, G. N. McCaskill, J. H. Henry, J. H. Sharp, J. Vincent (New Zealand Staff Corps), W. Pollard (Royal New Zealand Artillery), and C. P. O'Leary (New Zealand Permanent Staff). The bearers were six warrant officers from the Army School, and a firing party of 12 was provided by the Army School. The Prime Minister (Mr Fraser), the Minister of Defence (Mr Jones), the Minister of Supply (Mr Sullivan), the Postmaster-general (Mr Webb), and Mr Adam Hamilton, a member of the War Cabinet, were present. . The funerals of the other four men who were killed will be held in accordance with the wishes of their relatives at Auckland, Hastings, ahd Christchurch.
