SMUG COMPLACENCY

AMERICANS AND THE WAR EFFORT NEW YORK, Feb. 8. In spite of repeated warnings from highest officials against smugness, a large portion of Americans still seem to indulge in smug complacency in regard to the war effort. The latest Gallup poll shows that 78 per cent, of Americans are of the opinion that America's war effort is already satisfactory, while 5 per cent, are undecided, and only 17 per cent, are not satisfied with the present efforts.-
