RAIDS ON MALTA
R.A.F. FIGHTERS ACTIVE (Rec. 8 p.m.) . RUGBY. Feb. 5. R.A.F. fighters have been active at Malta, where, according to Agency messages, attacks were made on Wednesday evening on two Junkers 88 bombers, both of which were damaged and the rear gunner of one probably killed. . Early on Wednesday evening an alarm was sounded for a small number of enemy aircraft, node of which crossed the island. During the night three or four small-scale raids took place. Only a few bombs were dropped, and there were no casualties. Anti-aircraft guns engaged the enemy. ~'• .■■•' '-':'. •"; £*x alerts were sounded to-day for formations of fighters and bombers, which dropped bombs on the southeast of the island. Damage was done to civilian property, arid there were a few casualties. Fighters were up, but there were no interceptions. Antiaircraft guns heavily engaged the enemy.
