Bill Scott.—lt is.claimed in some quarters that Bill Scott could have extended the 15sec improvement he displayed at Cambridge. Loughros.—The Wrack mare Loughros has had two wins and a placed performance in five starts this season. She is engaged at-the Wellington meeting.. , Koesian.—The Frank Worthy gelding Koesiah, who 5s engaged "at Wellington, won at Cambridge :n 2min , 45sec from a 2min 57sec. mark. He is on a 2min 55sec- mark ;in the :Navy Handicap at Hutt Park to-day, . * Pacing Power.—AsLit is getting on towards the autumn, Pacing Power may be classed as a rising four-year-old and so likely to improve on the winning form displayed earlier in the season. Symphony;—The Reyde Ox-o filly Symphony shaped well enough at Cambridge to suggest that she may supply the strongest opposition to' Pacing Power in the Great Northern Derby. Early' Speed.—A yearling filly named Miss Fixit by His Majesty, .1.591, from Belvolo, 2.7J,»Dy Belwin, ran a furlong.in 14Jsec before she was sold at Harrisburg, U.S.A., for 1150 dollars. Another yearling, Widow's Pride, by Abbedale. 2.11.. from Widow Grattan.2.o, sa fullbrother to The Widower. 1.59 J, sold for 3000 dollars. The Stud Book.—lt is reported that Mr J. Keddell, of Alexamha, has shown commendable interest in making every- en-* deavour to have his brood mare Hectors Own included.in the next volume of the New Zealand Trotting Stud Book. He has supplied the valuable information to the compiler that Hector's Own is by Sir Hector from a mare by Dragoon. This Dragoon mare was out of Ivy'll, by" Ike (an Australian thoroughbred) from a mare by Topthorne, who is claimed to have been an English trotter. Hector's Own, having produced Dusky Sound, 4.18 2-5, and Jack's Pal, 4.34, is eligible for the Stud Book arid is a desirable addition to it.
