The following is a statement of the assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank as at the close of business on February 2:—
AUCKLAND GAS COMPANY (Special) AUCKLAND. Feb. 5. The net profit of the Auckland Gas Company, Ltd., for 1941 was £23,362, compared with £21,001. This is the result after the provision of £63,548 for the estimated income tax for 1941 and the security taxes, compared with £52,855 Income tax paid in February. 1940, on the previous years earnings and the security taxes. The dividend for the past year, which is maintained at 4 per cent, (final per cent.) requires in all £21,294, leaving £7009 to be carried forward, against £4941 brought in. MINING NEWS ADDISON’S FLAT RETURN (P.A.) WESTPORT, Feb. 5. The Addison’s Flat Sluicing Company’s return for the four weeks ended January 31 was 55 ounces for 70 shifts.
