AIRCRAFT MODELS
APPEAL TO AMERICAN YOUTH WASHINGTON, Jan. 31. The Secretary of the Navy, Colonel Frank Knox, has asked the nation's youth to build 500,000 aircraft models for the Armed Forces. Colonel Knox explained that the navy and the army urgently needed 10,000 models, each of 50 different types-of fighting planes, to train personnel in aircraft recognition, range-finding, and gunnery practice. A model seen at 35 feet was identical with an aeroplane seen at half a mile.
