FURTHER DRAFTS SELECTED RECRUITS FOR NATIONAL RESERVE Further drafts of recruits for home defence have been selected in the Otago military area to begin training* immediately. The following men will leave for the north to-day to serve at a coastal defence fort with the 11th Heavy Regiment:—J. W. Day, R. M. Knight D. A. L. Powell, J. Strathern, J. M. Urquhart. R. H. Wards and R Weir Volunteers for the National Military Reserve who have been posted to the new 17th (Dunedin) Battalion were issued with battledress and other equipment yesterday, and will begin training to-day. In addition to the list of recruits already . published, J. H. Henderson and K. J. Lowe will also train with the battalion. Another party of 16 volunteers will parade at the Kensington Drill Hall to-morrow afternoon at 1.30 to be issued with uniforms and equipment, and they will start training on Saturday. The draft includes J. F. Boyd, E. J. Calder, G. T. Canton, J. W. Cotton, A. Fodie, C. E. James, R. M. Kett, P. M. McGregor, H. C. Peggie, A. H. Rapson, C. J. Rawlinson, W. H. Snedden, D. S. Thompson and R. G. Young.
