AMATEUR ATHLETICS
WELL-ATTENDED EVENING MEETING
Probably due to the increased interest in athletics aroused in Dunedin by the visit of the noted coach, Dr F. E. Gallas, of Wellington, there was a larger attendance than usual at the weekly evening sports meeting held by the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association at the Caledonian Ground lest night. Competition was keen and several of the events produced exciting finishes. A feature of the meeting was the large number of school boys and girls taking part in special events. After the meeting Dr Gallas continued his coaching lessons.
