TROTTING NOTES

Canterbury Park.—lt is announced that, owing to the transfer of the Canterbury Park meeting to New Brighton, the Twomile Trotting Championship may be deleted from the programme and a handicap substituted. At Perth.—ln Perth recently arrangements were made whereby a galloping meeting started early enough to finish 30 minutes before the start of a trotting meeting at 4.45. There was a big attendance at the trotting meeting, which was the first held in daylight since 1914. Loughros.—The Wrack mare Loughros, who won so well at Timaru, is expected to continue in a successful groove. She is a five-year-old mare produced by Edith Voyage, by Happy Voyage—Edith A., by Black Ribbon from a Mambrino King mare. King Cole and Black Ribbon were two of the few sons left by Ribbonwood prior to being sold to Mr J. D. Playfair. Black Ribbon was got by Ribbonwood — Lady Noel, by General Tracey (son of Berlin) —Flora Temple, by Spot.
