INSTITUTE FOR THE BUND

The total number of blind cases throughout.the Dominion registered at the Auckland Institute for the Blind is 1265. according to the annual report of that institution. The previous figure was 1190. The number of blind who make use of the facilities of the institute is 210. In the school there are 33 children. A main activity of the institute is the workshop, and sales of the output last year very nearly reached the total of £19,000. The institute has two bands, one being a dance band, and a number of pupils are being taught music. Bequests to the institute last year totalled over £7OOO.
