HOARD OF BOGUS NOTES

SYDNEY, Jan. 9. Police believe that the 3000 bogus £5 notes found by a Militia trainee buried in a tin trunk at Bulli Pass, 25 yards off Prince’s highway, had been buried there for a year. They were evidently portion of the thousands of counterfeit £5 notes printed for circulation throughout Australia nearly two years ago. The notes were then sold by the counterfeit gang at various rates up to 30s each, but prompt action by Sydney detectives put an end to the business.
