CLERGYMEN HONOURED

HEROES OF CIVIL DEFENCE LONDON, Dec, 10. Two clergymen have been honoured for heroism in civil defence. Their names are includedJn the latest list of awards published in the London Gazette. Civil Defence warden the Rev. Edward Penard Laycock, of Beckenham. Kent, receives the British Empire Medal. He has been responsible for saving many lives, rescuing people from demolished houses without thinking of himself. The vicar of Christ Church, Summerfleld, Birmingham, the Rev. James France- Hinett, is among those commended.
