WOMEN GRADUATES
FOUR WAR-TIME SCHOLARSHIPS STUDY OF CONDITIONS IN BRITAIN (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 16. Four scholarships to the value of £3OO each, tenable for 12 months, have been made available to women graduates of the University of New Zealand by the British Council for the year 1942-43. The applicants must be British subjects, at least 23 years of age, and must have graduated at a recognised academic institution. The scholarships are intended to enable specially qualified women to visit the United Kingdom in order to study war-time conditions in some departments within their particular field, such as education, economics, public health, social service or medicine. The hope is expressed by the British Council that applications will be received from candidates with good academic qualifications who have already had practical experience in their chosen sphere.
