THE AXIS POWERS
ANOTHER AGREEMENT NEW YORK, Dec. 16. Tokio radio announced that a Tripartite agreement was concluded, under which Germany and Italy pledge their solemn word to Japan that neither will make a separate peace until the war with the United States and Great Britain is successfully concluded. The three Powers, even after the conclusion of the war, are to cooperate in the closest manner for the purpose of realising a righteous new order. The Japanese Prime Minister, General Tojo, declared that the German and Italian declarations of war against the United States, together with the marvellous achievements of the Imperial armed forces, would unfold a bright future for the Japanese Empire, which was proceeding resolutely with the construction of the new world order. The naval spokesman, Mr Hiraide, warned the Japanese people that they must be prepared to carry on a war against the United States and Great Britain for 10 years, even though America’s Pacific fleet had been smashed.
