STEPS TO '■ CO-OPERATE < ' A largely-attended meeting of mem'bers of the Duhedin Builders' Association and of the Otago Branch of the Institute of Architects was held last 'night for the) purpose of discussing safety measunes to meet possible emergencies. J Following lengthy discussions, it was decided to set Jup a joint committee of builders and architects to co-operate with the' cityj engineer (Mr S. G. Scoular) in carrying out any plans which may considered to be in the best interests of the safety of the citizens. The meijnbership of the committee is as follows: Messrs F. L. Lawrence (converter), Owen Macfie, G. Simpson, J. ¥. Love, H. McDowall Smith, and N. f Y. A. Wales. Immediate (consultations will take place between the committee and the «ity engineer} and a further general meeting of architects and builders will be held at the! Otago Employers' Association rooms] on Monday for the purpose of putting into operation whatever plans may be.decided upon.
