MILITARISTS IN CONTROL

NAZI METHODS ACCEPTED

WASHINGTON, (Rec. 11.30 p.m.) Dec. 14. The American-born Mr Kawakami, the Domei Agency correspondent at Washington until the war, told the press that he will enlist in the United States Army, and added: "The shameful double-dealing manner in which Japan launched her unheralded attack indicates how completely the Tokio militarists have accepted Nazi methods. It is clear that Japan was determined to attack after Gensral Tojo assumed the premiership. They pretended to be negotiating, only to gain time." He added: "My friends in Japan would be ashamed if they kndw the facts; but very little of my reports reached the Japanese public." Mr Kawakami's father, the renowned Japanese writer, is residing in the United States. His mother is an American. .
