INDOMITABLE SPIRIT
THE PEOPLE OF GREECE (Eec; 7 p.m.) RUGBY, Dec. 13. The indomitable spirit of Greece is aptly shown in official communiques in both Britain and Russia. The British Admiralty publishes an extract from a report by the com-mander-in-chief of the Mediterranean stating that the Greek Fleet, which arrived at Alexandria in April. ; S 1941, had been acting in concert with' the Mediterranean Fleet, and had become .“ a valuable fighting unit .in the Allied cause.” The report adds; ‘‘Submarines and destroyers have taken , their full share of patrols. The submarines recently had their successes against the-enemy, and the destroyers ■ have done invaluable work in escort duty. Three destroyers have each steamed more than 7000 miles in- the . last four months.” ; A Russian Information Bureau communique draws attention to the notable work done by Greek guerrillas in their own country. Near .Koritsa. Northern Epirus, they successfully attacked an Italian infantry regiment. At Corfu a small Italian vessel was scuttled by Greek guerrillas, while in a serious clash between Italian and Greek guerrillas at Fiorina the Italians suffered heavy losses. x ■ J '
