BULLER COAL MINERS
SHORT CHRISTMAS VACATION (P.A.) WESTPORT, Dec. 14. The Minister of Mines, Mr P. C. Webb, accompanied by the Undersecretary of Mines, arrived this afternoon by special plane from Wellington after visiting Greymouth. The Minister’s visit was to stress the need for the best effort from the miners, an assurance being given that shipping would be available to freight coal to its destination. It is understood that the coal miners of the Buffer district, instead of taking the usual 10 days’ Christmas vacation, will have as holidays only Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. The Minister, after a brief stay at Westport, left on his return to Wellington. \-V ' ■ ' T
