SOUTH DUNEDIN SING
With the object of raising funds to distribute between the orphanages of the district, the South Dunedin Sing Committee has decided to continue the sings for a few weeks, and one of these was held in the Mayfair Theatre yesteruay. The assisting performer was Mr L. Spiers, a promising young baritone, whose three numbers were greatly appreciated. The sing was under the cdntrol of Mr R. McKenzie. with Mr E. Fish leading the singing and Miss Myrie Hunt playinj? tie accompaniments. Among the contributions received were:— "Anonymous £5, Tokarahi Women's Division of the Farmers' Union £2 2s. Mrs Lobb 10s, and Omakau supporters 10s. Included in the contributions to the sing last Saturday night were the following :—Lady Sargood £5, R. Brown (Wairuna) £l, A. and F. C. Thomson (Hampden) 10s, and " Scarlett O'Hara" 10s. Goods sent in found a ready sale, particularly a fine work box from the pupils of the Purakanui School.
