Omakau.—Mrs A. C. Secular and Mrs Naylor were hostesses. Mrs Scorgie presided. The afternoon was t-pent in knitting for the forces and articles' knitted during the month were handed in. The sum of £1 19s was collected -for soldiers' parcels. Hawea Flat.—The eleventh birthday party took the form of a dance. Mrs R. Scott (president) welcomed those present, and other speakers were Mrs Annan /Provincial President), and Mrs Radford (president Ctomwell branch). The candles on the cake, which was presented by Mrs Allison, were lit by Mrs Radford and extinguished by Mrs T. Smith (Cromwell), and the cake cut by Mrs Annan. Victorian posies were handed to these ladies by Miss Phyllis Allison (secretary). Mrs J. McLennan presented a cake for. competition, this being won by D. Hodgkinson. Glenomaru.—Mrs J. Wilson presided. Roll-call: "What I would do if I was president." Competitions: Slippers—(seniors) Mrs J. Searle 1, Mrs F. Mudie 2; (juniors) Miss M. Mudie 1, Miss V. Martin 2. Bed" socks—(seniors) Mrs Searle 1; (juniors). Misses M. Mudie and V. Martin (equal) 1. Bannockburn —Mrs Campbell presided. Roll call: " Impromptu Speech." Competition: . Advertisements Miss Lawrence 1, Mrs Crombie. Mrs Campbell and Mrs Rivers (equal) 2, and Miss Robertson 5.. Mrs Anderson and Miss Parcell were hostesses. Merton.—Mrs E. H. Scott presided. Roll call: "Gifts for the lepers at Makogai.". A sale of "mystery" parcels was held for the Soldiers' Parcel Fund. Christmas parcels will be away this month. Alexandra.—Mrs Lloyd Williams presided. Mrs Kinnaird was deputed to collect money and gifts for the Makogai lepers. Another 9s was collected for a soldiers' parcel. Prizes for cards were won by Mrs Kinnaird and Mrs Smith.
