ST. JOHN WOMEN'S WAR COMMITTEE

The monthly meeting of the St. John Women's War Committee was held on Tuesday, October 14, Mrs A. A. Fairbairn presiding. Others present were: -Mesdames H. J. Davis, F. S. Avent, R. Fulton, Emil Halsted, A. G. Melville. William Ewing, H. L. Paterson, G. Ferguson, ■A. R. Falconer, W. F. Edmonds D. Smeaton, J C. White, H. K: Wilkinson, O. J. Begg (secretary) and Miss Applegarth. Mrs Fulton reported that the Christmas parcels for Otago nurses in the Middle East had been packed and despatched in time, it was hoped, to reach them before December 25. The sewing meeting continues to do good work. During September it fulfilled at short notice a large demand for roller bandages. At the same time it works steadily on with the making of swabs, T and many-tailed banadages.
