” The Villain Still Pursued Her," which will head the programme commencing a season at the Grand Theatre, Is one of the brightest comedies of the season. Produced according to the best old-fashlon.ed melodrama tradition, in which the audience is invited to hiss the villain and cheer the hero, the film depicts the dastardly efforts of a villainous Lawyer Cribbs. through the effects of strong drink, to trick the rightful heir out of his inheritance. There is. of course, a saintly heroine, on whose home the villain holds a mortgage on which he threatens to foreclose, and a true friend who stands by the hero and heroine throughout their troubles, and whose efforts finally foil the villain’s evil machinations. Hugh Herbert, Anita Louise. Alan Mowbray. Buster Keaton, Billy Gilbert, Richard Cromwell, and other seasoned players are featured in the strong cast. The supporting film is “ Robbers of the Range.” which brings a colourful picture of early Western days to the screen. The star of the film is Tim Holt, while Virginia Vale has the feminine lead.
